A New Blog

While in college, had a blog that I originally set up to follow all my exploits and times with new places, experiences, and friends.  After starting off really well, I started getting some rather hurtful and insulting anonymous comments from people I went to high school with.  Instead of telling my story, I started to just do surveys in the hopes that no one would post hurtful and hateful comments.  That worked, but I started to feel like I didn't have any outlet.  Eventually, it just fell by the wayside during my senior year and I haven't updated since a few months after I graduated.  I figured it was about time to start again, but this time, it's going to be for me, not for anyone else.

Since graduating in 2007, I have been in the same job doing pretty much the same stuff everyday in an office that I used to love, but now usually makes my skin crawl.  I have known for a while that I need a change and that change is hopefully coming.  I should know by June, although I'm hoping it's sooner.

In March 2008, I started teaching dance at the same studio where I took class so many years ago.  I'm now teaching kids who I danced with and a few who I have known since they were born.  That has been the best experience.  I absolutely love it (most of the time, anyway) and I couldn't ask for better kids.  This year has been a little more stressful than the last couple because of the possible change coming in my life.  I'm trying to do the best I can and I want to highlight what these kids are capable of.

To make my days go by and have something to look forward to, I adopted a dog December 27, 2009 (although I'd had him for about a week before that thanks to the first major snowstorm of that winter).  Jake was 8 months old and the cutest little terrier.  He still is and I'm so in love with him.  I can't imagine my life without him and I honestly can't remember much of my life before he was in it.  He's my cuddle bug, my little terror, and brings a refreshing breath of life.  He has been a pivotal part of my life and my mom's life since Shorty has been gone.  He spends a lot of time with my mom, Gary, and Abby and they all love him.  He is the love of my life.

That's a little bit about my life.  I love to travel and I want to see the world as much as possible.  I've found a new love of photography, although I've always loved taking pictures.  Hopefully I'll be able further this passion into a great creative hobby.  I think Jake's already done with me taking pictures of him, as is my family.  :-)

Welcome and I hope you enjoy.
