This and that (AKA: the first time I felt strange about all this)

These days are just crazy busy.  I can completely empathize with my former students now (sorry guys!); being talked at for hours on end is really difficult.  I understand that there’s information we need to get and not everything is super exciting.  It’s just hard to focus when it’s so hot, you’re wearing pants and long sleeves, walking up and down lots of stairs, and are just overall very tired.  I think I’ve acclimated to the time change well, which is a big bonus.  I thought the jet lag would be the worst part.  Nope…three shots in two days in the same arm – that wins the award.  Thankfully no more shots; until next week that is.  Then I need to look into Yellow Fever and Malaria to go see some friends.  And get clearance for those trips.  As well as the wedding.

Everyday, I’m getting more and more scared and worried I can’t do this.  My self-confidence is shot right now.  There’s no good reason, though.  In my heart, I know this is normal and I would have never signed on for something so evolutionarily crazy if I didn’t know I could handle it.  My head is telling me a different story.  I am my own worst enemy.  Self-confidence has always been an issue.  I’ve never felt good enough for anything.  I don’t really know where that comes from.
